No lies on your CV

Louise Fletcher over on the Blue Sky Resumes Blog made some great points in her recent post The End of Resume Lies. Lying on your resume has always been a bad idea, but in an age where social media makes it so easy to find out information, it’s an especially stupid idea now.

It’s not so hard to present yourself in a positive light on your CV without resorting to out-and-out lies. Focussing on your good points – your skills and accomplishments – is one way to stand out from the crowd. Telling lies and being found out will also make you stand out from the crowd – but not in a way that will do you any favours.
